Lakeshore Lodge Construction Update: Balcony Railings Take Shape at Disney World's Newest DVC Resort

Lakeshore Lodge construction is reaching new milestones at Walt Disney World, with balcony railings now being installed across multiple sections of Disney's newest Disney Vacation Club resort. The latest construction progress shows significant advancement on the highly anticipated lakeside property, which is set to welcome its first guests in 2027.

During our recent site visit, we observed substantial developments across the resort's main buildings, including the completion of balcony railings on several accommodation blocks and continued work on the distinctive A-frame lakeside cabins.

What's New with Lakeshore Lodge Construction Progress?

The most notable advancement in recent weeks has been the installation of sleek black metal balcony railings throughout portions of the main resort buildings. These vertical bar railings feature closely-spaced elements that complement the resort's contemporary design aesthetic whilst ensuring guest safety.

Construction crews have been working diligently to complete the railing installations, with several building sections now showcasing the finished balcony elements. The black metal framework provides a striking contrast against the resort's natural colour palette and reinforces the lodge's connection to its pristine lakeside setting.

However, work remains ongoing across other areas of the development, with numerous balcony bases completed and scaffolding still in place awaiting railing installation. This phased approach to construction allows Disney to maintain quality standards whilst progressing efficiently towards the resort's planned opening.

How is Disney's Lakeshore Lodge Taking Shape Overall?

Beyond the balcony developments, construction continues steadily on the resort's other signature elements. The distinctive A-frame cabins, which will offer unique waterfront accommodation options, are progressing well with structural work advancing on multiple units.

The resort's entrance porte-cochère is also taking shape, featuring the angular architectural elements that will become synonymous with Lakeshore Lodge's distinctive design language. This covered arrival area will provide guests with their first impression of the resort's nature-inspired theming.

The lazy river and additional recreational facilities continue developing alongside the accommodation buildings, ensuring the resort will offer comprehensive amenities when it opens to Disney Vacation Club members and other guests.
