Disney Lakeshore Lodge construction has reached a new milestone with roofing now complete on the A-frame cabins, whilst work continues across the Disney Vacation Club resort site on Bay Lake. The resort, built on the former River Country location near Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, remains on track for its summer 2027 opening.
What progress has been made on the main lodge building?
The multi-storey main lodge building shows significant advancement with scaffolding in place and key exterior elements now installed. Windows, balcony railings and exterior panelling are all visible on the structure.
Infrastructure work is also progressing, with a 5G pole being installed to provide internet access across the resort. The development includes construction of a porte cochere, lobby area and dedicated bus stop for guest transportation.
When will Lakeshore Lodge DVC resort open in 2027?
Disney has narrowed the opening timeframe to summer 2027, though a specific date remains unconfirmed. The project represents the continuation of plans that originally began in 2018 under a different name.
The resort was first announced as Reflections - A Disney Lakeside Lodge before construction plans stalled during the COVID-19 pandemic. Disney officially revived and renamed the project in 2024 as Lakeshore Lodge.
What amenities will the Disney Fort Wilderness Bay Lake resort include?
Confirmed resort features include a lazy river loop and waterfront Lake Houses positioned along Bay Lake's shoreline. Disney describes the development as inspired by "the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists."
The exact number of cabins and rooms remains unconfirmed, as do specific amenities beyond the lazy river. Disney has not yet released pricing information for stays or Disney Vacation Club point charts.
How will the former River Country site affect Disney Vacation Club members?
When completed, Lakeshore Lodge will provide Disney Vacation Club members and resort guests with a new lakeside accommodation option in the Magic Kingdom resort area. The Bay Lake location offers proximity to both Magic Kingdom and Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.
The resort will add to Disney's collection of DVC properties, though purchase prices and membership details have not been announced. The development transforms the long-closed River Country water park site into active resort accommodation for the first time since the 1980s.
