Disney has extended the temporary closure of Disney's Typhoon Lagoon due to continued cold weather in Central Florida.

As reported in our previous update, the water park had already been closed earlier this week after Disney removed operating hours from the calendar. Disney is now showing Saturday 17th as the next day with listed opening hours, indicating Typhoon Lagoon will remain closed for a further two days.

Typhoon Lagoon is typically scheduled to operate from 10am to 5pm, but like all Disney water parks, it is highly dependent on weather conditions. Cooler temperatures, wind chill, and overnight lows often lead to short term closures during the winter months.

At this time, Disney is signalling a planned return to operations on Saturday 17th, though this remains subject to weather conditions and could still change if temperatures remain low.

Guests with upcoming plans are encouraged to keep an eye on the My Disney Experience app and the official Walt Disney World calendar for the latest updates. We’ll continue to follow the situation and share further news if Disney adjusts the reopening date again.
