Guests visiting Magic Kingdom should note a last minute change to the operating schedule for Pete’s Silly Sideshow.
Disney has confirmed that Pete’s Silly Sideshow will now close tomorrow, January 4, 2026, one day earlier than previously announced. The circus tent was originally expected to become unavailable starting January 5.
Once the location closes, Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, Donald Duck, and Goofy will continue greeting guests elsewhere within Storybook Circus, though Disney has not yet shared exact details or locations for these alternate meet and greets.
Why Is Pete’s Silly Sideshow Closing?
While Disney has not officially stated the reason, the closure is widely believed to be for repairs to the Silly Sideshow tent, which was recently reported to have sustained damage.
In October, Disney filed two permits related to work at Pete’s Silly Sideshow and Big Top Souvenirs.
No Reopening Date Yet
At this time, Disney has not announced how long the refurbishment will last or when Pete’s Silly Sideshow will reopen to guests. As with many minor refurbishments at Walt Disney World, further details may not be shared until closer to reopening.
If you were hoping to meet characters inside Pete’s Silly Sideshow, today is your last chance before the temporary closure begins tomorrow. Are you planning to catch these meet and greets before the tent goes dark?
