The festive season is officially winding down at Walt Disney World, and the first signs of Christmas disappearing have already appeared in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Over at Echo Lake, the iconic floating Christmas ornaments have now been removed. Throughout the holiday period, these oversized baubles filled the lake as if they had tumbled from the enormous Christmas tree nearby, creating one of the park’s most recognisable seasonal scenes.

While the ornaments are gone from the water, the Echo Lake Christmas tree itself is still standing, with a handful of fallen decorations scattered around its base. Some festive touches also remain in the area for now. Gertie the Dinosaur is still sporting her Santa hat, complete with an ornament dangling from her mouth, and garlands can still be spotted around the lake.

Traditionally, Disney begins removing its larger Christmas displays after the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. The early-morning races pass through several park areas, making it easier for crews to begin work once the events have concluded. Based on previous years, the remaining holiday décor across Walt Disney World is expected to come down over the next week or so.

With Christmas slowly giving way to the new year around the parks, the seasonal transition is well underway.
