Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets construction has reached a new milestone at Disney's Hollywood Studios, with the Rock Around the Shop sign now completely removed and fresh grey paint transforming sections of the attraction building ahead of its 26th May 2026 opening date.
The latest updates show significant progress on the highly anticipated Muppets-themed transformation, as Disney continues refurbishing the former Aerosmith roller coaster into what promises to be one of Walt Disney World's most exciting new attractions.
What Changes Have Been Made to Rock 'n' Roller Coaster This Week?
During recent visits to Disney's Hollywood Studios, notable construction progress has become visible across multiple areas of the attraction. The most obvious change involves the complete removal of the triangular Rock Around the Shop sign that previously hung beside the entrance door.
Fresh grey paint now covers the left portion of the main attraction building, creating a stark contrast with the remaining light tan sections on the right side. This colour transformation represents a significant departure from the previous Aerosmith theming as Disney prepares the space for The Muppets' Electric Mayhem Band.
The iconic guitar sculpture outside the attraction continues receiving its psychedelic makeover, now displaying vibrant blue colouring alongside areas of pinkish primer. According to Disney's concept artwork, this guitar will ultimately mirror the groovy rainbow design of Fozzie Bear's famous Studebaker from The Muppets Movie, featuring colourful swirls and stars.
How Does the New Muppets Theme Compare to the Original Aerosmith Version?
Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith permanently closed on 1st March 2026 after years of thrilling guests with high-speed launches and rock music. The Muppets transformation maintains the same fundamental roller coaster experience whilst completely reimagining the storyline and soundtrack.
Guests will still enter G-Force Records for a VIP studio tour, but now they'll encounter The Electric Mayhem Band instead of Aerosmith. The pre-show experience will feature beloved characters including Scooter, Kermit, Miss Piggy, and even penguins, creating an entirely different atmosphere from the previous rock concert theme.
The attraction's song list showcases an eclectic mix of covers and collaborations:
