Disney's Hollywood Studios has mysteriously removed decorative stripes from The Magic of Disney Animation building just days after they were freshly painted, leaving Walt Disney World fans puzzled about the sudden change in Animation Courtyard.
The dark red stripes, which were added to the building's facade earlier this month, have completely vanished as of Friday 17th April. The stripes were positioned on the right side of the structure, adjacent to the iconic sorcerer hat and classical columns that define the building's entrance.
Why Were The Magic of Disney Animation Stripes Removed So Quickly?
The rapid removal of these Disney's Hollywood Studios facade elements has sparked speculation amongst Disney enthusiasts. The stripes may have been removed due to incorrect positioning or potentially wrong colour shades that didn't match Disney's exacting standards.
These decorative elements were designed to mirror the authentic Roy E. Disney Animation Building located in Burbank, California. The stripes also featured prominently in official concept artwork released for the Animation Courtyard transformation project.
What Does The Real Disney Animation Building Look Like?
The original Roy E. Disney Animation Building showcases distinctive architectural features that Disney Imagineers are attempting to recreate at Walt Disney World. The authentic Burbank facility displays the characteristic beige, red, and green colour scheme that's being implemented in Florida.
However, the existing Hollywood Studios structure differs significantly in shape from its California counterpart. This architectural variance means the Florida version cannot replicate the exact same design elements, requiring creative adaptations to capture the original's essence.
When Will Walt Disney Studios Courtyard Open at Hollywood Studios?
The Walt Disney Studios Courtyard represents a comprehensive reimagining of the former Animation Courtyard area. This ambitious project will introduce expanded green spaces and specially designed pavement featuring character autographs and handprints - creating a unique walk of fame experience for guests.
Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! is scheduled to debut alongside the courtyard on 26th May. However, Disney has not yet announced an official opening date for The Magic of Disney Animation itself, though it's expected to welcome guests this summer.
