Walt Disney World has confirmed that Frozen Ever After will temporarily close later this month as part of a short refurbishment focused on updating its Audio-Animatronics.
The popular attraction, located in the Norway Pavilion at EPCOT, will close beginning January 26, 2026. Disney says the ride is expected to reopen sometime in February with upgraded figures for Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff.
When Frozen Ever After debuted in 2016, it introduced then cutting-edge projection or “screen-face” technology. At the time, it marked several firsts for Disney Imagineering, including the use of fully electric Audio-Animatronics and extensive 3D-printed components.
Since then, the technology has continued to evolve. Guests familiar with the World of Frozen at Hong Kong Disneyland may already have an idea of what is coming next, as that version of the attraction features advanced figures with fully articulated, physical faces. Disney is now bringing that same level of realism to EPCOT.
While the refurbishment is expected to be relatively brief, it represents a noticeable upgrade to one of EPCOT’s most popular rides, especially for fans of Frozen and first-time visitors.
