As planned, Frozen Ever After is now officially closed at EPCOT.
The attraction closed today, January 26, 2026, to begin a short refurbishment focused on upgrading its Audio-Animatronics. Disney is replacing the existing projection-face figures for Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff with new versions featuring fully articulated, physical faces.
Frozen Ever After originally opened in 2016, replacing Maelstrom in the Norway Pavilion, and quickly became one of EPCOT’s headline attractions. While the ride has remained popular, Disney has been gradually updating Frozen attractions worldwide with more advanced figure technology.
The EPCOT version is expected to reopen sometime in February. Disney has not announced an exact reopening date, but construction walls are now up in the Norway Pavilion as work gets underway.
Guests visiting EPCOT during the closure can still explore the rest of World Showcase, including nearby dining, shopping, and character experiences.
