Walt Disney World has introduced expanded Disney World water park bus transportation with direct routes from seven resort hotels to Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach, eliminating the need for transfers through Disney Springs or Animal Kingdom. The service operates whilst both water parks run simultaneously during the summer season, with resort guests also receiving complimentary water park admission on their check-in day through 8th September.
Which resorts get direct water park buses?
The Disney World direct bus service Typhoon Lagoon Blizzard Beach programme divides participating resorts between the two water parks. Port Orleans Riverside and Port Orleans French Quarter now receive direct transportation to Typhoon Lagoon.
Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach, Pop Century, Coronado Springs, and all three All-Star resorts benefit from direct service to Blizzard Beach. Guests staying at other Disney World resort hotels must continue using the existing transfer system.
How do transfers work for other Disney resorts?
Resort guests not included in the direct service programme still need to make connections for water park visits. Typhoon Lagoon requires a transfer at Disney Springs, whilst Blizzard Beach visitors must change buses at Animal Kingdom.
The transfer system remains the standard method for reaching water parks from Disney's Grand Floridian, Polynesian Village, Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge, Fort Wilderness, Beach Club, Yacht Club, BoardWalk, Swan, Dolphin, Old Key West, Saratoga Springs, and Disney Vacation Club properties not listed in the direct service programme.
When does the Disney resort water park bus schedule operate?
Bus service to both water parks begins approximately 30 minutes before the parks open each day. Return journeys continue until roughly 60 minutes after closing time, providing adequate time for guests to travel back to their resort hotels.
Disney World has not confirmed the exact start date for this expanded direct bus service, nor whether the programme represents a permanent operational change or a temporary enhancement for the summer period.
What is the free water park promotion?
All Walt Disney World Resort hotel guests receive a complimentary water park ticket on their check-in day as part of a promotion running from 26th May through 8th September. This benefit applies regardless of which resort guests choose and works alongside the expanded transportation options.
